Metal Foam Technology
ERG is capable of foaming a variety of metals to produce Duocel® open cell metal
foams. Aluminum foam is our most popular metal foam, followed by copper foam. Duocel can also be made in a range of other metals including tin foam, zinc foam, nickel foam, silicon foam, Inconel foam, silver foam, and gold foam. Advanced combinations can be achieved through secondary coating
processes, a detailed explanation of which can be found in the foam properties page.
Carbon Foam Technology
ERG’s Duocel carbon foam known as RVC (Reticulated Vitreous Carbon) is made from a non-crystalline vitreous or glassy form of carbon and can be utilized by our engineers and machinists to suite your specific RVC application.
Ceramic Foam Technology
A variety of Duocel foam ceramics are available, including silicon foam, silicon carbide foam, silicon nitride foam, silicon nitride/carbide foam, boron carbide foam, boron nitride foam, hafnium carbide foam, tantalum carbide foam, Zirconium carbide foam and a number of others.
